Drew J. Guff

Managing Director

Drew J. Guff is a Managing Director and founding principal of Siguler Guff. He is responsible for Siguler Guff’s direct investment and merchant banking activities and sits on the Investment Committees for all of the Firm's funds. Mr. Guff has over 25 years of experience in private equity investing. Prior to founding Siguler Guff, he was with PaineWebber for 11 years in a range of both principal and advisory capacities. In 1994, Mr. Guff was instrumental in the formation of Fund I, the first major private equity fund to invest in Russia. His work in Russia began in 1991 as an adviser to the Yeltsin Presidential Administration regarding long-term foreign direct investment. Before establishing Russia Partners, he was a Principal within PaineWebber’s Merchant Banking Group, where he was engaged in structuring and managing investments using PaineWebber’s capital. He also served for four years as Assistant to the President of PaineWebber. In 1989 Mr. Guff founded Pacific Media K.K., which today is Japan’s largest outdoor media company. In addition to his Russia Partners portfolio management and directorships, Mr. Guff is a board member of the U.S.-Russia Business Council as well as a member of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council. He is a trustee of the Eurasia Foundation and the Institute for the Recruitment of Teachers.

Mr. Guff holds an A.B. in Economics from Harvard College. He speaks, reads and writes Russian, and attended Leningrad State University in 1981.
