Russia Partners Management ("Russia Partners") was initially formed in 1991 to assist the Russian Presidential Administration of Boris Yeltsin in attracting foreign direct investment. These activities led to the establishment in 1994 of Russia Partners Company, LP ("RP I"), a $155 million private equity fund established to make private equity investments in Russia and other countries of the former Soviet Union. Since then, Russia Partners has become the leader in attracting and managing long-term private equity investments from U.S. and foreign institutional investors into the region. In 2004, Russia Partners closed on Russia Partners II, LP ("RP II"), a $335 million private equity fund targeting investments in businesses that address the needs of the growing consumer class in the region.

Since its inception, Russia Partners has built what it believes to be the strongest private equity team in Russia. The senior investment professionals combine high levels of education and “indigenous” work experience in Russia with advanced Western education and experience with Western firms. The team, consisting of over 40 employees, comes from a wide range of disciplines, including private equity management, investment banking, private industry, Russian and international government, management consulting, public accounting and law.

Founded in 1991 by George Siguler, Drew Guff and Donald Spencer as the Private Equity Group of Paine Webber, Siguler Guff became an independent firm in 1995.
